  I was under the impression that the free domain purchase for one year was to apply and then payment was to be done next year however it was not clear and demanded a charge of 48 dollars instead of 18 dollars as indicated terms and conditions were not clear on what is what

  Hi there,

  That’s not how the free domain credit works. If you purchase a plan, then you get to register a domain for free for the first year. After that, the domain is renewed separately from the plan.

  For example, if you purchase a Personal plan ($48) and register a .com domain ($18) you’ll only pay $48. Next year when you renew, you’ll pay $66 ($48+$18).
