  I have a premium plan for WordPress . I bought it for the purpose of monetising my site with ads . But do I need to have my own domain too or having premium plan with free domain is alright for generating revenues

  I understand you would like to use WordAds to monetize your site but would like to use the free .wordpress.com domain instead of a custom domain.
  
  Please note that in order to be eligible for WordAds you must have a custom domain registered and set as the primary domain (for example, yourgroovydomain.com instead of yourgroovysite.wordpress.com)
