    If I upgrade to a monthly $4 billing starter plan package, do I still get the free domain for one year?

    No. You need to pay annually to get the free domain for the first year. Annual payments make more sense anyway. Paying monthly is expensive. The months come round so quickly you would soon have paid twice what you needed to.

    @themagicrobot is spot on! You can get the first year’s domain registration fee included with a yearly WordPress.com plan. You also save quite a bit of money in the long run by paying on a yearly basis instead of monthly.
