  Hello everyone,

  I’m new to WordPress and need some assistance:

  Situation: I’m setting up a website for my college society and chose WordPress because they offer a “free one-year plan” for a domain name.

  Issue: Although the promotion shows it’s free, I’m being asked to pay around 776.44 rupees when trying to get the domain.

  Help Needed: Is this a case of misleading advertising or could it be a glitch?

  I’d greatly appreciate any insights or advice you can provide!

  WordPress.com don’t offer “a free one year plan”. A paid annual plan lets you create a custom domain name included free for the first year. But you have to pay for the plan.

  If you want everything for free then you need to choose an address for your site that ends in .wordpress.com. There is nothing misleading.
