Free domain name has expired!

ashevillemasters.com has a FREE plan with wordpress that says ‘never expires,’ but, our website is one day past expired, does not show up now, and should be free forever~if I read the pages correctly~ but wordpress says I need to pay $13 to renew domain name, which I’ve tried to do, but wordpress won’t allow that, either, saying I’m not the original administrator of site. What do I do to restore our website, please!!??

From what I can tell you have a free plan with domain purchased elsewhere. If you can’t renew from wordpress.com/purchases you can try to log in with a different username if you know it. If you need further help contact staff at wordpress.com/help/contact

The underlying .wordpress.com URL you are mapping from never expires. ashevillemasters.com is set as the primary domain for ashevillemasters.wordpress.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site.You registered the domain through 1 and 1 and that’s where you have to renew the domain. WHOIS Here at wordpress.COM you also renew domain mapping annually.

When it comes to time-sensitive issues like domains and you posts a sortof but not really accurate answer and a link to contact Staff, the threads may not be noticed by experienced Volunteers. They may fall through the cracks and Staff may not be contacted at all. Perhaps iy would be best if you keep focused on the fact that everyone posting here expects and deserves a complete and accurate answer as soon as possible, and avoid posting into threads when you cannot provide what’s needed.
