Free Domain names

Alright, so I made a free domain to test out the interface of wordpress and simply used my name. Stupidly enough, after being satisfied, I deleted the site and carried on with my merry way. After browsing the many free website platforms the internet has to offer, I figured because wordpress was so pleasing, I’d try again and flesh out a site more. Wanting to keep the domain name simple and easy to remember, I again wanted to just use my name. Unfortunately, however, despite me deleting the website, the domain name isn’t cleared. I realize this makes me look like a complete idiot, but I just wanted to know if there are further steps I have to take in completely clearing the free domain name. Thank you, and have a nice day!

Once a site is deleted on WordPress.com that name can never be used again. There is no way around that, and you will have to select a new name now.
It’s not a free option, but you can always purchase a domain name for your site. Once you do that, it will not matter what your free WordPress.com domain name is.
