Hi there,
As WordPress.com is already completely free to use on our free plan, we don’t offer free or discounted upgrades for non-profits. This also applies to domains, which is a hard cost to us – for every domain registered through us, we have to pay a fee to the registry that controls the domain.
If you upgrade to one of our annual plans, one free domain registration is included in the plan for the first year, with the domain renewing at an additional fee from the second year onwards. Also note that to have your site load at your own domain, a paid plan is required – we also offer monthly plans, but those don’t include a free domain.
