  Hi! I’m creating a new site and it says that its free for the first year, but its asking for my credit card details. Just wondering when I’ll actually be charged for the subscription?

  You can create a completely free site with a .wordpress.com subdomain. If you require a custom domain one is included free for the first year but only with a paid plan.

  Ok and do you know if the plan is charged right away? Or at the end of the first year?

  Right away. As soon as you add your card details and create a site with a custom domain.

  ????? Straight away, For the second year you’d be charged for the cost of the plan and the cost of the domain. The extra price for the domain would depend on which extension you chose.
