Free For One Year? Why Charge?

  I was wondering why I can get one year free then when the next year comes around I am charged $4.00 annually because it’s for personal use, then WordPress is now charging me $48.00 before I can continue in my new blog. I just created the account now. Why charge me that much? It’s not even for business.

  Only the domain name is free for 1 year but you still have to pay for the wordpress.com plan. You find the pricing and the features of the plans at https://wordpress.com/pricing/
