  Hi everyone,
  I am completely lost when it comes to blogging, more specifically, hosting. I have created a blog (just yesterday, its still a work in progress)
  My questions are as follows..
  a) Do I need to host this somewhere?
  b) Is this possible to do this for free?
  c) If I don’t host this site anywhere, does that mean I get no ‘traffic’?

  I realise that these are really simple questions to some, but I would really appreciate some help! Thank you!

  Are you talking about this blog http://inspiremejournals.wordpress.com/ ? If so…

  a) no, the minute you created the above blog here at wordpress.COM, it was live on the internet
  b) you are already doing it for free right now
  c) your site is already live and on the internet, but it can take the search engines a few weeks to pick it up, and it can take 3-6 months or more for your search engine ranking to get high enough to star showing up higher in searches, but let your friends know keep posting regularly and find other blogs you like and when you find a post that you want to comment on, do that and that will help bring in people as well.

  1) please don’t hijack threads with unrelated issues. There are hundreds of threads on the issue you’re talking about.

  2) Under Tools->Export. Then you import them wherever your new blog is.

  Thank you for the information you provided. I know that you’re unhappy with me posting here. There are hundreds of posts and that’s the problem – my answer is lost among them.

  This is what Tools->Export says:
  When you click the button below WordPress will create an XML file for you to save to your computer.

  This format, which we call WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.

  Once you’ve saved the download file, you can use the Import function on another WordPress site to import this site.

  Now I know how to export my files…
  I need to transfer my blog hosting to another hosting service outside WP.
  Please help me…others will learn from my mistake.

  We can help you with WordPress.com. Helping you with your other site is not something we can do. You just Import the file there and your posts, comments, etc should show up.
