Free Non-Profit Plan and Theme

    Hello,

    I work for a non-profit company and I am trying to create a website to link my domain to. I own a domain name through GoDaddy which is free because we are a non-profit. I want to link my domain to my WordPress sight but I am having trouble with a few things.

    First, does WorPress offer free premium plans for non-profits? I know other website companies like Wix do and wondered if WordPress did the same.

    Second, I purchased a theme for WordPress and tried to upload it but wasn’t able to because it said I have to purchase a business plan. Is this true? Do I have to buy a plan to upload a theme that I already paid for?

    First, does WorPress offer free premium plans for non-profits?

    We offer free plans for everyone, but not free premium plans.

    Do I have to buy a plan to upload a theme that I already paid for?

    You do if you’d like to upload a theme here, but if you’re maintaining your own installation at another host, you can upload it there. We’ve got some helpful details here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Basically if you use your own copy of the software you can upload themes as you’d like. You just need to keep backups and updates done, and be prepared to find solutions in the community forums if you need help.

    Or, you could use the business plan here, or, you could let us know what theme you picked and what you like about it. Perhaps we can hep you pick something similar.
