Free plan not uploading m4v videos to blog post

  Hello,

  Can anyone help? At the moment i am on the wordpress.com with the Free Plan. When i try to add m4v videos to a blog post wordpress will not let me. WordPress says that this file type is not recognised. How do i get around this problem? Do i need to upgrade from the Free Plan to the Premium plan? I want to upload videos to my blog to publish.

  Can anyone provide a clear step by step answer to solving my problem please.

  Hi Matt,

  Nice site — you are lucky to live in the Peak District :)

  If you want to upload and host your video files (including .m4v) on your blog, you can do that with VideoPress, which is included with WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans: https://wordpress.com/pricing/.

  However, if you would prefer to stay on the WordPress.com Free plan, you can embed videos from another service such as YouTube or Vimeo. There is a full list of supported services here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/
