free plan with domain I own?

  I don’t understand. I own my domain and want to temporarily move my site to word press. Is it possible to have a free or personal plan and use my domain? Sorry to be so clueless : )

  Yes! You can use your custom domain with your WordPress.com site on a Personal subscription. You can use the Domain Connection for that purpose:
  https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/
