free plan won't launch site
-
Hi there. I selected a free wordpress.com domain, built my site, and now I need to “launch” it, but it takes me to a page where I’m required to purchase a domain. Help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you trying to launch https://foxozyfall2019.wordpress.com/ ?It seems your site has been launched and is set as private.
Please navigate to My site >> Manage >> Settings and change the privacy settings to Public.
If you are trying to launch some other site, please try launching it from My site >> Switch Site >> Select the site you wish to launch >> Manage >> Settings
This will allow you to skip the domain purchase.

I am having the same issue. I, for one, can’t change the Privacy Setting because it is still greyed-out–even after confirming my email address.
Is there a time-delay for that? And for launching the free site?
Thank you

With the other posting on this subject, it finally worked.
That free site was not at the bottom of the page originally, though.
Something changed, but, in any case all is now launched and my Privacy settings is no longer greyed out.Phew!

Hi there,
We are currently addressing this issue internally. In the meantime, to launch any new site and avoid purchasing a plan, you’ll need to go to Manage > Settings and click the
Launch Sitebutton from there. The twoLaunch Sitebuttons from the My Home page does not give you that option:I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

I have tried going through Setting > Manage > Launch site but am still only finding purchase plans, no free option for the domain I already have selected that was free.

Yes it seemed to be some sort of glitch I tried again on my mobile, it was right at the bottom, an option to skip all of the paid stuff and it now seems to have been published 🙌 thanks everyone!
