free plug-in development requirements to be approved for VIP

  Hi guys,
  Is there any specific standard for development needs to be met to even apply for Enterprise status.
  My customer asks me will the plug-in, we are going to develop, be ready for approval to WordPress.com Enterprise edition store, or is there any specific requirement in building to that standard. The plug-in needs to be available for Enterprise class WordPress, not just basic free version.

  As I understand we will need to contact you , so you will review our plug-in and approve/disapprove to get appeared our plug-in on VIP page. But the question now is about development.
  Our plug-in will be uploaded to free store. Will our developer need to develop or use something special, in case of our plug-in approval to VIP?

  When a WordPress.com VIP client has a plugin they wish to use on their site, they contact us directly and we work with them on the technical requirements and necessary approvals. We’re not currently seeking plugins outside of those existing commercial relationships.

  For your own benefit and that of any users of the plugin you’re building, you may wish to review our best practices in https://vip.wordpress.com/documentation/vip/code-review-what-we-look-for/ and also make use of PHPCS, per https://vip.wordpress.com/documentation/how-to-install-php-code-sniffer-for-wordpress-com-vip/

  Again, we’re not seeking plugin submissions for VIP or Enterprise approval outside of our existing client relationships, but I hope you’ll find these links useful.
