  I thought you offered a free site builder. when I try to start the build I only get options for paid sites

  After completing all 6 steps it will take to you to the plans page where you can click on the link given above the plans with the text Start with free site

  Thanks, I’ve tried that but the start with a fee site isn’t there.

  Are you selecting the domain with prefix wordpress.com for example domain like abc.wordpress.com or you are selecting any other domain?

  If you are selecting any custom domain then you will have to be on paid plans as custom domain features is not included in free plan. Here is the document that will help you to know more about each n every plan features:

  Thanks, saw that but didn’t realize if you had other hosting it would force you to a pay product. appreciate your help.

  Note that you just need to pay for the plan because each paid plan comes with free domain credit feature where you can either register a new domain or map your existing domain to your site.
