Free Site Admin Dashboard Limitations

    I recently helped a friend set up and use a new free WP.COM site. As a longtime user under the Premium WP.COM plan, I was amazed at how simple and limited her free Admin Dashboard was with action options down the left column. And the edit actions to do Posts and Pages are also limited – for example, not able to insert Polls or Forms. Does not having Jetpak account for her Dashboard difference? Does a new free user need to upgrade to the Personal Plan to get Jetpak and a more robust Dashboard? Thanks! gary

    You have only had this WordPress.com account for a couple of hours. Perhaps you have used the WordPress.org software previously. Have you tried adding /wp-admin/ to your friends site to use the traditional dashboard?
