free site to business site possible title tag change
-
I have a business website using WordPress.com, that a guy built for me. During Covid I let it lapse and it became a free site with WordPress.com. Now I have paid the $300 to upgrade it to a business website again, and I no longer am associated with the original. I am the administrator of the site. My problem is that I pulled up the source code for the home page and looked at the <Title>. It reads WordPress.com. Shouldn’t the title or title tag be an explanation of what my company does? I’m wondering if this title changed when the website converted to a free site with google?

Hi there,

When the business plan is allowed to expire, it means that all plugins, themes, and custom code additions are deactivated. In most instances you can simply reactivate these features after you upgrade again, but it is possible that not all plugins settings are saved correctly. While we do our best to prevent data loss it can be the case that not all plugins will return to their previous state when activated.
With that said, when I visit your homepage and look for the
<title>tag I do not see what you describe, I see this instead:You see something else if you visit
