Free theme, no infinite scroll?

Hi! I’m looking for a theme I can use with a free wordpress plan that has regular old pagination rather than ‘load more’ buttons at the bottom of the screen on the desktop version of the blog.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Hi murphyxleigh,
You can use any free theme you like and disable infinite scroll from Settings.
Go to Settings>>Writing and look for the Infinite Scroll option. Check this support document:

Thanks for trying, but it doesn’t help! It just gives me a “load more” button at the bottom of the page, and when i click that, it, y’know, loads more posts instead of taking me to a second page.

I see no button to load more posts. Please try clearing browser cache and cookies.
It will be good if you reduce the number of blog posts to display per page. Go to Settings>>Writing, scroll down to Content Types and choose the number of blog posts you want to display per page.

Sorry! I’m using a different theme from the one that’s giving me trouble. I want to move over to Twenty Sixteen, but I can’t seem to make it work so as not to do the problem I described above.

Are you trying to add pagination to display the number of pages instead of a load more button?
If so, it depends on the theme you use.

No new theme has it. Only if your account is old and you’ve used a theme like Kubrick, which has paging, you can reuse it.
