Free to paid?

    Can I get a free website now, then later upgrade it to a paid plan/use a domain I’ve paid for? Thanks.

    Hi there,

    We don’t offer free trials for our upgrades but you are welcome to start a free site by choosing a free “wordpress.com” domain and skipping the option to add any plans or a custom domain: https://wordpress.com/start/

    Our free sites do have some limitations (is not able to use custom domains, shows ads to help cover our operating costs) but it does offer you the ability to evaluate our built in tools.

    If you would like to share a little more about what you are trying to set up , or any specific features or functionality you need, feel free to let us know. We’re happy to take a closer look and see if a free option exists or if that might require an upgrade.
