Free to Personal upgrade questions

  I am currently using Free plan and I am considering the Personal plan. I have a few questions about the change.

  1) After I upgrade and get some_name.com domain, will I get redirection from my old address penoff.wordpress.com? I see the redirect option in my account which is paid for Free plans. Will this specific redirection be paid as well?

  2) Free plan does not allow monetization (seems to mean adding my own advertisements). Does the free plan allow PayPal donation button (I won’t be selling anything)? I see that I can create online store with a free plan so I guessed donation button should be OK, but I had to ask. What is the situation with donation button with Personal plan?

  Hi there,

  1) Once you register a custom domain your old address will still work and traffic will automatically be redirected from your old address to your new one.

  2) You can add Paypal to your site for tips, etc., here is a guide on the process: https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/view-all/
