  I just created an account and I’m trying to create a website. I downloaded a theme from another website and was intending to try it on wordpress, however it seems that I need to purchase a plan for that to happen.
  I could consider purchasing a plan, but as the website is not even built and I am still accessing the suitability of the platform, I don’t think it is fair, nor reasonable, to have to pay to upload a theme.

  Please let me know if there are ways around this.

  Hi there!

  You are correct – in order to install third-party plugins or themes, you would need to upgrade to the Pro plan.

  However, we have many themes in our theme gallery that may work as well as the one you downloaded without needing to pay for an upgrade.
