  Wordpress.com doesn’t provide any trial period.
  But does have a free plan which you can use.

  And then you can upgrade to any paid plan if you want.
  It also provides a 30 days refund policy. You can cancel the upgrade and ask for a refund within 30 days from the date of purchase.

  At present I have the free wordpress website. I was wondering, if I upgrade my WP to the personal plan, will I be able to upload the html google search console to my site. Please help me understand and will I need a separate host or will WP host me. Thanks :)

  Yes. If you upgrade to a personal plan, you will get one free custom domain credit and then you can register your site with Google search console.

  You don’t need to purchase any other hosting form any other site. If you have a paid plan with wordpress.com
