Free Website Mapping Domain

  Hi there,

  I’m looking for clarification on mapping my domain (that I already own).

  I’m at this step now: https://wordpress.com/start/onboarding-blog/domains/use-your-domain

  I am looking at the two options and I see at the bottom of the ‘map my domain’ it says ‘$13.00 per year plus registration costs at your current provider’, does this mean I will be charged an extra $13 a year to connect my domain to my wordpress.com free site?

  Hi traveladventurefam,

  plus registration costs at your current provider

  The amount we charge only covers the cost of mapping an existing the domain to WordPress.com (which is a feature of paid plans).

  Since the domain is registered with another provider, you will also need to renew the domain itself through them each year.
