Free website – Why so different?
-
Hello,
I’m trying to create a website with WordPress. I have earlier been working on other companies and ministries websites, without any problems.
I don’t really understand why it’s so different now – Because I’m using a free account? I’m not a programmer at all, but it would probably be easier to create my own website from scratch, than to make this work. Then WordPress kind of losses its point, doesn’t it?I’m not planning to use a free website, but I’m also not planning to pay for a website before I have even made it. What if I don’t even like the result and want to use something else tha WordPress? – Then I have already paid.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
If you need more custom design options, then the Premium and Business plans give users that option. You can also preview this option before deciding to purchase.
WordPress.com customers can also cancel and obtain a refund of Plans within 30 days. Please note that domain registrations can only be refunded within 48 hours.
You can also export your WordPress.com site content anytime – free or paid!
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with :)

Hello,
When I first started to use WordPress.com, I was already a WordPress.org user and the biggest difference for me was the Dashboard. I really missed the one I got used to on my self-hosted WordPress sites. Then I figured, I can open the same Dashboard by adding /wp-admin to the end of my free site’s URL. :)
It definitely helped me a lot to build and customise my free on WordPress.com.Also, the Create and Customize articles can give a boost to get started. :)
Cheers,
Gina
