freedns.afraid.org point to wordpress.com site…

Hi I have a problem with DNS settings. I have a domain (panteleimon.me) from namecheap. Also I have registered to freedns.afraid.com for ddns so that some subdomains point to my home server.

Now I want the domain, panteleimon.me, to point to wordpress.com site but keep the DDNS service for other subdomains to point to my home server. I have tried to add the nameservers of wordpress.com to freedns.afraid.org as secondaries, but it doesn’t work either (sometimes the subdomains form Freedns try to resolve from wordpress.com nameservers and “panteleimon.me” doesn’t reach wordpress.com). Also when I try to add an NS record to Freedns for domain “panteleimon.me” it points me to do the previous instead, setup secondaries.

Is there a way from freedns.afraid.org, the domain name “panteleimon.me” to point to wordpress.com site with some kind of DNS record?

  • Hi there,

You can try and point your domain from freedns.afraid.com to WordPress.com by using the following A records:

    192.0.78.24
    192.0.78.25

Please note that these IPs can change over time and that’s why it’s best to use our name servers.

Also, if the A records trick doesn’t work you’ll have to only use our name servers as there isn’t any other way to properly point your domain here.
