Frequently updated linked picture gallery
-
I am trying to create a page with a gallery/list of small pictures of album covers that when clicked will bring the reader to our review of it. I want the pic.s to go from left to right with 3 on a line and all the pics to be 150×150 and have a border with a caption of the album and artist underneath. When I use the gallery option it makes everything nice and neat, but when clicked it doesn’t bring me to the review, and when I add the link to the review post in the pic. options in the gallery it doesn’t retain the link info, but instead reverts back to the image link.
I am also adding the pics one by one an have had success with this to a degree, but randomly when I add a pic it breaks up the nice and organized 3 pics a line format I want and places them all over the place. I believe that this has something to do with the length of the caption I write under the photo.
Here is the link to the page in question. http://metalstate.wordpress.com/reviewspage-in-progress/
This page will be frequently updated so I would need a solution that I can continue to add to it as we continue to write album reviews and would like to make this the standard layout for other pages.
A bit more info, all the photos are set to align left and are uploaded to wordpress(not photobucket or anything like that), and I am using the “Mystique” theme and do not have a paid upgrade to the custom css(would that be needed to make my vision work?). I have searched the support pages and the internet before writing this topic, but nothing pertained to exactly the solution I need. Thanks in advance for all your help!!!! I hope I provided enough information for you all. Peace!!!

Setting the alignment of an image to left means that the rest of the content will wrap around, that is, start next to instead of below the image. Since the first image on your page has a longer caption, the total image+caption height is larger than that of the next two images, so there’s still room left next to the first image, so the fourth image wraps around it.
You need to keep the alignment of all the images to left but switch the editor to HTML and paste this after each triad of image codes:

Thanks for the help!!! This seems to be doing the trick. Just one more question, should I start counting and adding from the bottom or top? I want the latest entry to show up at the top of the page and have the odd remainder at the bottom.
Again thank you much!!!
Peace,

You’re welcome.
In theory, from the top, otherwise the odd remainder will be the first row. But this means you’ll have to change the placement of the code I gave you each time you add a new entry. If you’re going to be adding entries frequently (and it looks like you are!), that’s quite a pain. So if I were you I’d probably start from the bottom, so that I wouldn’t ever have to change the coding of the older entries, and leave the remainder at the top – sort of highlighting the latest entry or latest two entries till the triad is filled.
By the way, endless scrolling isn’t user friendly. At some point you should consider splitting the page:

Thanks a ton!!! I was just starting to look into the page split, so thanks for that link.
