Fresh and Clean Author Display

    I have been experimenting with the Fresh and Clean theme on my website http://gomogyourself.wordpress.com/. I like everything about it, except that it doesn’t appear to have any way to display the author of a given post. (This weblog has multiple authors and I’d like to make it clear who posted what.)

    I’ve switched over to the Forever theme in the meanwhile, but I thought I’d ask – am I missing a way to turn on Author support in the Fresh and Clean theme?

    Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    If there are multiple author in your blog, then there should be an Author box.
    Go to edit post and see if there’s option or not. See it below the “slug” option. If it’s not there then go to screen options at the top to see you have enabled it or not. I don’t think it to be theme dependent.

    (This weblog has multiple authors and I’d like to make it clear who posted what.)

    You can also do it by placing authors widget in sidebar.

    @wowcynwise
    Regardless of the theme, bylines will only display now if there are at least two authors who both have at least one published post in the blog. This post announced several theme enhancements from November 2011 http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/11/21/theme-improvements/

    Only a few themes also have an additional author profile that appears at the end of posts. Currently Chateau, Choco, Duster, Elegant Grunge, Enterprise, Liquorice, Matala, Mystique, The Morning After, Next Saturday, Pink Touch 2, Selecta, Skeptical and Twenty Eleven, Twenty Ten, Vertigo and Vostok display the author’s profile and gravatar when viewing a single post at the end of the post.http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

    If the authors on your blog have been added as official users to the blog and all have published a single post on the blog then their bylines ought to be appearing. If they aren’t then Theme Staff will reply to this thread and make the required fix. Please be patient while waiting for Theme Staff to respond to this thread.

    Will you please check your screen options and make sure that the Author module on posts and pages is not “hidden”?
    Posts – Post Tags, Categories, Excerpt, Send Trackbacks, Discussion, Comments, Post Slug, Post Author, Post Revisions
    Page – Page Attributes, Recommendations, Featured Image, Discussion, Comments, Slug, Author, Revisions

    hnsaifi,

    Thanks for the quick response and your suggestion. I’m not sure if I was clear in my question, though I did turn on the Author selector in the settings.

    The problem is in the attributing a specific post to a specific author in the Fresh & Clean theme. In many other themes, a post will have a byline like “Posted on February 1, 2012, by Cynwise.” In F&C, it says “Posted on February 1, in Outfits and tagged XYZ.” No where on the post template does it display that a post was by a specific author.

    I do have the Author widget in the sidebar. It allows people to click on authors and see who posted what, but nothing in the post itself that says it.

    Does that make sense?

    Thanks!

    Timethief,

    Thanks for the response(s). :)

    There are three published authors on the weblog and they are appearing in the Author widget. The Author Module is not hidden.

    I’m not looking for the author profile to display (though that would be nice), but rather to have the author attribution be correctly displayed in the byline. They are not appearing. I will switch over to the Fresh and Clean theme so you can see this.

    Thanks!

    hnsaifi is a neophyte blogger who has no exdperience when it comes to answering forum questions. I am an experienced blogger and Volunteer who has answered questions on this peer support forum for almost 6 years. Please read what I posted as it is accurate and complete. As I said above Themes Staff do monitor all threads in this forum and they will respond to you.

    @timethief:

    Please see my response and let me know if you need additional information. There are three published authors, the Author module is enabled, and the theme does not display their name in the byline. The website has the F&C theme enabled presently so you can see this behavior.

    Thanks for reactivating Fresh and Clean and for checking yoiur blog again. I do see what you point to. Volunteers do not have backend access to blogs and cannot aplly any technical fixes only Staff can. Themes Staff do monitor all threads in this forum and they will respond to you.

    @timethief:

    It appears that in Author and profile displayed or not (linked off of one of your links), Fresh & Clean is listed as one that does not support an Author byline.

    This may be working as intended, which is unfortunate. I would very much like to use that theme, but do need the author byline.

    Thanks for your assistance. I will await the Themes Staff official response.

    I see a “most popular themes” phrase here but until Themes Staff answer we don’t know if Fresh & Clean is among the themes referred to or not:

    Our most popular themes now have better comment labeling when comments are turned off and better author highlighting for multiple author blogs — making them perfect for blogs that are more like small business sites or magazines. — http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/11/21/theme-improvements/
