Fresh & Clean slider help
-
Can anyone else that is using Fresh & Clean help with something?
With the featured slider on the home page, do the stories actually “slide”, i.e. change over a certain period of time? If that does not happen by default, is it something that I can add in or go somewhere and change?
And if it does happen, can the slider speed somehow be changed? I’d like to be able to have the stories on my blog (Hype the Movies) slide every 5-10 seconds if possible.
Thanks in advance for your responses!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No there is no timer or speed issue involved here. Your visitors have to click to move to the next featured post.

I like the idea of an automated slider. Timethief do you know whether that can be achieved with the custom CSS?

Thanks Panaghiotisadam, I was showing my ignorance here ;-)
Still on that steep learning curve with regards to CSS.

This may be a dumb question, but I can’t get the slider to appear. I have selected the desired posts as “sticky” and made their feature images at least 840. What am I missing?
-
Please go to Media > Library, hover over the name of one of those images, click Edit, copy the file URL and paste it here so we can check.
-
The image is fine. And I’m seeing it’s the image that accompanies the post “Job Shadowing 2012”. If this is one of the posts you’d like to include in the slider, then you simply haven’t marked it as a sticky (if you had, and the image wasn’t ok, it would say “Featured” in a grey box above the thumbnail). Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of each post you want in the slider, click Quick Edit, check the option “Make this post sticky”, click Update.

I’m having this same problem too…I have made my posts sticky but there is no slider showing up. Does this need to be enabled somewhere?
-
We cannot tell if we cannot see the blog. Please paste the URL of your blog when asking questions here. Or (better for you) make your username link to your blog (Users > Personal Settings: scroll down to Account Details, paste blog URL in the Website field, click Save Changes).

Okay, this has been driving me crazy too and I finally got it to work.
1) Forget all the other instructions about about featured image on sticky posts etc…
2) Go to the dashboard and click on Slides > Add new in the left nav bar
3) Put a title for your image, and the link to the post you want to link it to.
4) Click on Set featured image on the right hand side and choose your image, slide down and make sure you click “Use as featured image”
5) Wait till it says done, then click on X to close window, your image should be visible in the featured image section.
6) In the publish section (top right), hit publish.
7) Check your site front page… Hopefully that should work for you as it did for me.The thing is I think that this theme must have been updated recently because the procedure is NOTHING like anything I can find on the web, yet seems to be better designed than before in some ways.
The good thing is, you can crop the image any way you want and not have it mess with the thumbnail image on the post. My blog worked best with 880px x 280px.
The bad thing is, it’s quite a significant extra step. It would be nice to have a link in the post page that has a “Create slide” link.Good Luck!

The blog linked to your username is an empty WordPress.com blog. The signature link drop is to a self hosted WordPress.org install using the Freash & Clean version of the theme that’s coded to run on WordPress.org software. That theme has been adapted so it will run on our WordPress.com software here which is different and the we have a different version of that theme.

Oh… so sorry yes I know the setup is different but didn’t know that this forum is only for the wordpress.com peeps.
Well good luck then… that must be why all the suggestions I read didn’t work for me.
Now that I look up at the thread though, the people who are still struggling (heartinmyshoes and mostateprssa) show up as “inactive” members, so maybe they too are struggling with a self-hosted wordpress blog?
Maybe the instructions will be helpful to them. But again, apologize for posting them in here.-s

@considerphi2
The “inactive’ link is a roving bug that comes and goes. Not to worry about it. Those who post an active link starting with http:// to the blog they are referring to will get the assistance they need. If any are WordPress.org bloggers then we Volunteers here will provide the correct link to the WordPress.org themes and templates support forum. Thanks so much for agreeing not to post WordPress.org stuff into any other threads on this WordPress.com forum. It’s appreciated.

Opening this thread up again:
I am trying to get the nivoslider that’s on the mainpage on every single page on my site?
I can’t locate the code that would insert the slider and how I would implement that on the page-template-page?This is the page that I’m working on:

@pontusbolag
That’s not a free hostde WordPress.com blog. It’s a WordPress.org install running on different software than what we run on and using a different version of the theme than the obe we have at WordPress.com. We cannot help you here. Please post to http://wordpress..org/support/ as that’s the correct support forum for your software.
