Fresh pages jump to comments

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi all,
When i’m logged in, everything is normal. However, when I’m logged out and I click around in my blog, new pages jump down to the comments instead of just showing the top of the page. Anyone know what’s wrong? Thanks in advance!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you clicking on a “comment” link when clicking around? Where exactly are you clicking that takes you to comments? I’ve clicked on nearly everything (pages, posts) on your main page and did not go to comments unless I clicked the comment link on a post.

That’s weird. I’m actually just clicking the post titles, both in the sidebar and on the main page. Whether I click posts, pages or comment links, same thing happens. Unless I’m logged in.

Log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

Also, what browser and browser version are you using?

Have you tried a different browser to see if it is browser related?

I’ve now checked in Firefox 8 and Safari 5.1.2 and can’t get it to do that.

Also, when it jumps when you click on a post title, does it show #comments at the end of the URL?

Clearing browser cache and cookies did the trick! I don’t understand what caused this, but it’s nice to have this resolved. Thanks a bunch, thesacredpath!

FYI: when I still had the problem, url’s did not end with #comments. And I’m using Chrome 15.0.874.121, but I guess we can conclude this wasn’t brower related.

    You are welcome.

Sometimes cached files or cookies get corrupted. Who knows why, but anytime you have an issue with wordpress acting strangely, on the site it self, or in the dashboard, do the cookie/cache clearing and it normally takes care of the issue.

    I’ll remember that, thanks!
