Fresh post of mine grabbed by the planet.com guys
-
What’s up with the grab of my just-published posts being grabbed by the planet.com reviewers and posting it with their name on my post. My comment moderator grabbed them but please, could admin support look and decide if it is a spam-type grab or a legit ping?
-
-
Thanks, Mark. The comments (with the ip addresses) are still in the moderators que on Talulas.wordpress.com. Are the Planet.com guys hacking WordPress?
-
No-one is hacking us.
What is the full address please? It needs to be written here so others can also be the judge.
-
address = http://www.Talulas.wordpress.com
Sorry Mark; I thought giving the name was enough previously; but read some forum posts that told me the right way. thanks for checking it out.
-
I think Mark is talking about the planet.com site and a direct link to YOUR post that they stole, and their post. Then we can see. All I get when I go to http://planet.com is a parked site with a lot of titles on it.
-
Ok then do you guys need their IP address or what? I have never handled tracking a post like this so what is needed?
-
I don’t know what staff needs: as far as I’m aware, they don’t enforce copyright, they just delete WP.com blogs that violate it.
For me to give you an informed, but non-staff opinion on what has happened I need just what I said above:
1 A direct link to the post on your blog that got stolen
2 A direct link to the place they posted your stuff. -
Ok here goes, for what its worth!
first one: http://www.btb-online/want-safe-and-protected-sites-online-for-kids-try-kid-things.html ISP 69.41.230.11second one: http://www.btb-online/brand-new-the-%2%80%98&horn-book%2%80%99-online-edition.html ISP 69.41.230.11
I just want to know if this is a normal ping (doesn’t look like one), legit grabbing of items of interest (highly doubtful since it lists other people as the authors) or hack or ‘bot’? And is there anything needed to be/can be done about it!
-
No. I need the URL of the post ON YOUR BLOG. The exact URL of the post on your site. Because I have to compare the two.
-
-
You know what raincoaster — just forget it — I’ll just delete the things or report them as spam and be done with it, because by the time i find the info you need since I am so new and don’t understand what you need for info links — and these stupid-behaving kids are about to lock up the forums on us.
thanks anyway for your esteemed help! Now go after those kids from Penquin sites before they take down WordPress on us.
-
Thanks. It’s really only one kid. The rest of them seem pretty okay.
If I were you I’d just delete them. I don’t know why those links work for you and not for me; they’re properly formatted and everything.
-
hey I just had a blonde moment & then flash! I realized I needed to log out and grab the url from outside the admin side. sorry but I am very green [or rather turquoise :) ]
these are the urls on my site

Please advise! I had intended to give up on my last message, when it hit me in a ‘duh!” as to what you needed to be able to see it.
-
I can’t compare them because I can’t see the other site at all. I don’t know why, but maybe the site is dead?
-
Thanks for your attempts to locate the problem. I clicked on the sites just now for the planet.com comments and it is dead now for me too. It was still up a few minutes ago. Maybe staff broke the link.
-
No, I think maybe those sites went offline because enough people reported them or something.
-
-
well, it seems that after I logged off and went to my admin address – there was a notice from wordpress identifying them as pingbacks. I had already deleted them but guess what — THEEEYYY”’RRR BACK! today. with dif names but from same Planet.com ISP. After reading some more forum threads on pingbacks (bad ones) and sploggs — I tend to agree with raincoaster’s opinions about other similar ‘grabs’ that they were stealing my content for the linkbacks that they will get when we follow up to find out who they are. I am guessing that they may have ‘bots’ trolling for content grabs. Funny thing: it seems the Planet.com company’s physical address is right here in Houston — maybe I’ll send them a letter about the abuse–or I guess I could handle it more radically — since I know where they live!

May I note that you spelled, penguin wrong talulas, don’t worry, we will take over wordpress someday. >:)
