I want to star from scratch the building of the site, but made some alterations to the theme that i got lost from what i wanted.

I’m sorry to hear what is actually happening to you.
You can try resetting your Site’s database so that you can start creating your Website from Scratch. Here’s the plugin which you can use to reset your WordPress site without deleting or modifying any files.
wordpress.org/plugins/wp-reset/
This plugin wipes existing data from the site and installs a fresh WordPress edition to your site.

In addition to the @patelpranay1 reply if you are not under business plan then you can start over by making your site empty. Here is the support document that will help you to know more about how to start fresh:To go ahead with the wp-reset plugin user should have business plan on WordPress.com platform. @patelpranay1 To add to the reply above note that this is the support forum for free sites hosted at WordPress.com. If the OP is talking about the new site linked to their WordPress.com account then a reset plugin isn’t an option for them.
And if it happens that the OP is talking about an unnamed site hosted elsewhere using the WordPress.org software then (and to ensure others seeing this thread aren’t confused) please point them to the WordPress.org support forum. This is worthwhile viewing: -
