Freshly Pressed

I would like to know how to suggest a post (someone else’s) for your freshly pressed section.
I will give the link here, but I know this isn’t the place.
Sincerely,
Scott L Vannatter

Freshly Pressed suggestions are not requested or accepted on these technical support forums. Staff make all selections. http://en.support.wordpress.com/freshly-pressed/
I suggest you promote that post in social networks like Twitter, Facebook, etc.
-
Apparently, though, if you connect with Freshly Pressed on Twitter they will take nominations there.

They did. Peculiar to do it only via Twitter; IMHO they should add a global tag for nominations.
PS I applied to be a story editor/FP picker and we’ll see if they respond to that. The above would be my first suggestion, along with having one curated and one voted page of favorites.

Me neither: it’s antithecal to the idea of curation. But if you open it, open it; don’t restrict it to Twitter users.
-
It’s blog fodder. Preferential treatment for users of a single third party social network – gimme a break. she rolls her eyes Maybe the best case scenario for FP is to trash the concept.
-
I have found your answers and conversation both informative and interesting. I did go to Twitter to suggest the link, but I also agree with you both that FP should have a “suggestion box” of sorts on WP, especially if it will consider any from Twitter or FB.

Hi Scott,
With respect I disagree. Not everyone has a FB account or wants one. Not everyone has a Twitter account or LinkedIn account or wants one and so on. Why should the members of any third party social networks be granted any special “FB nomination” privileges that aren’t available to all WordPress.com users? -
I am sorry. I must have stated myself poorly. I meant that, if WP is going to offer FB or Twitter a way of nominating someone for the FP posts, then WP itself needs to have that. That has been my problem from the beginning. It was good to find out so quickly from you that I need not look for one on there as it doesn’t exist.
Sorry for the confusion.
