  Michelle Weber declared ny blog Freshly Pressed 10 hours ago but the badge has not shown up in widget configuration. Can you advise? Thanks!

  Hi Kathleen,

  Sure thing. We notify you as soon as we’ve selected your post to be Freshly Pressed, but we queue them up. Since we often might select a handful of posts in a short time, we actually publish/promote the post spread out over the day.

  It looks like your post is the 4th in line to be published. A second e-mail won’t be sent, but you can follow at https://twitter.com/freshly_pressed if you’d like to see when it has “gone live”.

  Once live, then the widget will be available.

  Thank you, BJ! I continue to be thrilled with this honor and Likes and Followings are multiplying. Sorry to be high maintenance, but my Freshly Pressed Widget does not show up on the blog. I dragged the icon to Showcase Sidebar, “Show all daily archives” and clicked save. My theme is Twenty Eleven with 8 widgets.

  Oh trust me, you’re not high maintenance :-)

  The “Showcase Sidebar” on Twenty Eleven is only displayed on pages that you’ve specifically selected to use the “Showcase Template”. I don’t see that being used on your site, so moving the widget over to the main sidebar is your best bet I believe.

  Hi, again. I would like to show the Showcase Sidebar on my home page with Follow and Facebook Like Page. I finally settled for Follow as a footer. I tried to get guidance from Help but I did not pull up anything. Can you advise?
  Meanwhile, I am hearing form all kinds of interesting people and blogs — including one for transvestites in their 50s

  Hi Kathleen,

  Sure thing. It takes a few steps needed for the initial setup.

  1. Make a new page (title it Home or whatever you’d like)
  2. On the new page you’ve made, on the right of the editor window, change the template to the Showcase item: https://cloudup.com/cH2e4d2thdC
  3. Visit your Settings->Reading page and set your Front Page to the page you had just created
  4. Celebrate!
