Freshy Theme date format next to posts
-
Hi all
I have the Freshy Theme. I like the date next to each post off to the right side, but can you change the format? For example, right now it says:
1
07
2008That is meant to represent today, July 1st. But the normal way that date is read in the US would be January (1) 7th, 2008. Is there anyway to change the date format so it looks like:
07
1
2008Thanks!

One would think that would work, but it doesn’t! I have it set so the example shows July 1st, 2008, but it doesn’t show up that way in the posts. The posts still have it in the format of 1st of July, 2008.

Oh, I didn’t know that! How odd. Let me check the CSS to see if it can be changed there.

I see where they’re formatted and styled but changing their order in the stylesheet doesn’t change what’s displayed. I’m no expert, though, so hopefully someone who is will be along and will know if it’s part of the code we can’t change.
Sorry. :(

As I remember, some themes do not honor the settings under settings > general, and pull the date from a different place which is likely why it did not change for you. Since it would require a change to the underlying theme files, there isn’t really anything you can do about it other than choose a different theme that does honor the settings.

Thanks, tsp. That was my guess, but I’m not well-versed enough in all the aspects of CSS to make that assumption. (good to see you, btw)

Thanks Ella, but who knows how long I’ll last here in the forums. It could just be just something I ate.

ha! Thanks thesacredpath. I think I can deal with it, because I really like the overall theme other than the date!
