Freshy Theme vs Custom CSS screwup!

  • Unknown's avatar

I need your help!! I’ve just bought the Custom CSS for Freshy Theme and all of a sudden, the layout screws up for the pages menu and the fonts are changed from the original theme (www.kollectif.wordpress.com). Does anyone have the original code that I could simply cut and paste! I’m really disappointed (and a little stressed out)! Can I cancel the upgrade?

    Thx!

    1) You don’t use the ‘www’ mark within your URL as it’s incorrect. The ‘kollectif’ bit takes the place of it. 30% of the net and most search engines spiders won’t or can’t follow such a link.

    2) To reset your CSS back to the beginning, check the box labeled “Add to existing CSS”, blank out the editor window, and click on the Save stylesheet button.

(Mark, if you see this, that would be a good FAQ as it’s come up before.)

    Hope this helps,

    Hi drmike,

Thank you for responding so quickly! For the first point, I’ve tried adding “www” in front of my domain name in the “Domain” option but the error message that I get is the following: “This domain has already been mapped to a WordPress.com blog.” How would I then proceed to having http://www.kollectif.net instead of http://kollectif.net?

    And thx for point #2!

    Marty

    Hi drmike,

I’ve read the “www in domain mapping” article and I think I understood (I’m not an internet whiz per say). So I’ll have to live with the http://kollectif.net!

    Thx!

kollectif.net is actually better as it would work with and without the ‘www’ bit. if you create your blog with just the ‘www’ version, you’re going to run into problems with folks trying to access your blog without the ‘www’ bit.

There’s way too many broken versions of dns out on the net…
