From Connections to Digg3 widget trouble

I decided to try out the Digg 3 theme, and it looked great, so I saved it as my theme. Then I went back and looked at my blog again, and my one sidebar had become TWO duplicate sidebars. I went back into my widgets, but it only showed my having widgets on the left even though they were clearly on both sides. I thought maybe removing them would bring me down to one sidebar, which it did, sort of. It left me with the post calendar one both sides still, and my text widget on both sides. Frustrated, I gave up and went back to Connections. Now, I have lost my header, I have lost all of my blogroll category headers, and I have the entire post categories list in my sidebar, which is one widget I never use. The whole thing has just gone goofy! To make matters worse, in my widget setup it still says I am using only the calendar and text widget. What do I do? My blog is http://5kidsandadog.wordpress.com

When you change a theme you need to Save Changes in Design < Widgets. Also, since you’re going from 2-column to three columm, sou need to specify which widgets that go in which sidebar. There is a drop-down menu above the widget list.

I did that. It didn’t work. It showed all my widgets in one sidebar, none in the other, and when I tried to delete from one to put into the other, it didn’t make a difference.

OK I figured it out. Thanks!
