  • BUT do more changes forexample backround colors, social media buttons and font styles?

When you move to the WordPress.com Personal plan from the free WordPress.com plan, primary benefits you receive are ability to use custom domain, live chat and email support, and 6GB of storage. There are no advanced CSS customization options on WordPress.com Personal plan.

Although when you move to WordPress.com Premium plan or above, you get more features, which includes the ability to use custom CSS.

Custom CSS should enable you to design the site to your needs (change color, font style, size and do more), without losing the existing setup.

And also if I want to buy a design from somebody else, do I need to get a buisniess plan?

Yes, on the WordPress.com Business plan, you will get the ability to upload custom themes and use plugins.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have questions.

    Hi @travelvibez,

I would really like to know if I upgrade my free wordpress to premium if I am able to use the same design as I do today, BUT do more changes forexample backround colors, social media buttons and font styles?

Yes the Premium Plan will enable you to use custom design features. Your requirement for managing your background colors, font styles should be fulfilled. Here is som additional information as well:

    Choose a WordPress.com Plan

And also if I want to buy a design from somebody else, do I need to get a buisniess plan?

Yes, Business Plan gives your features to install your own theme(designed from somebody else), use external plugins as well. It also gives you access to Live Chat and Screensharing Concierge support as well.

Hope this helps, please let me know if I can help you further.

    Thanks!

  • Aida – just wanted to confirm and expand a bit on what pavanraheja said about the Premium plan. Specifically:

I am able to use the same design as I do today,

Yes, you can keep the same theme you have now.

BUT do more changes forexample backround colors, social media buttons

Yes, with custom CSS you will be able to target specific elements to change their colour, look and feel. We can help you with the code for that either via live chat or email (two support avenues you’ll also have access to as a Premium-plan customer) or in the CSS Customization forum.

    and font styles?

Yes, you will have access to a set of TypeKit fonts in addition to the collection of Google Fonts that you now have.

And also if I want to buy a design from somebody else, do I need to get a buisniess plan?

Correct – as both pavanraheja and strikebuys said, the Business plan would be needed to upload your own theme from outside of WordPress.com.

Do let us know if you have other questions!
