From Google – fix errors on my AMP pages

Hey @susielindau !
You all aren’t doing anything wrong – the errors are coming from ours and Google’s end. So, we’re working together to get them fixed.
I have over 70 posts and almost all have images, yet only 5 seem to be marked as having AMP errors, so I don’t get what the connection is to images…
Many of the errors stem from there being no image on the post, but not all of them. There are several things that are going on, so it is definitely possible to have an image on one of your posts and yet still receive an error.

staff-doublebassd Thank you! I am very grateful to you and wp for working it out! Out of curiosity I went back to the links google sent in their email (which still shows their old amp error reports) and followed their links to this:
Verify your fixes
Visit your AMP page with development mode enabled and open the browser console to see if any AMP validation errors are reported.Of course, it wasn’t apparent anywhere on the page or in Browser Tools, etc how to
enable development mode
or what the h*
open the browser console
means since my browser is already open obviously, so I will just be happy to go on your assurance that it’s all good now. THanks again!

What they just described is pretty much what I have been doing.
Using the Chrome Browser, I:
- Went to View > Developer > Developer Tools
- Clicked on the console tab
- Copied and pasted one of your amp URLs (ex: http://loopbraider.com/2011/09/16/rainbow-girl/amp)
- Added #development=1 at the end of the URL and hit enter (ex: http://loopbraider.com/2011/09/16/rainbow-girl/amp/#development=1)
- Then, the console area should either give you a AMP Validation successful notification or an error
So, if you get any additional AMP errors, that is an easy way to validate the URL. Everyone in here can validate their URLs by the above method if I have not gotten to them yet.

I can’t find any ‘developer’ or ‘developer tools’ under View in Firefox, so I guess I’ll switch to Chrome if and when I have to check on my amp pages in the future. -
I just had a thought!
I signed up for Google Analytics two months ago and noticed Google can only analyze about 20% of my views since I don’t have a business account. I was penalized big time on Alexa Ranking and dropped by 5,000,000. I deleted my account, but could this be where these AMP errors are coming from? I noticed this alert came from the console. -

@susielindau oh my! I had no idea the impact to the Alexa ranking. My Alexa ranking is indeed dropped but not that much and I thought it was dropped because I was not active in blogging for two months last year…

I don’t believe so. Google has made some recent changes that have affected many blogs – and many of them do not have Google Analytics. I’ll ask to be sure, though.

Hi there.
Rather than start a new thread, can I report the same issue with one of my posts here. Google reports an AMP error on the following post:
AMP URL:

Canonical URL:
http://mg3c.com/2016/02/23/hidden-innovation-the-best-kind/I have checked again today, and the error is reported as “The attribute image.width has an invalid value.” The attribute in question appears in the script inserting my author Gravatar.
I haven’t checked other pages or posts on my site — Google only reported the error on that one post.

Your post validated successfully, although I did receive a chrome extension error that is unrelated to the amp validation. It has something to do with the Youtube video on your page, but it shouldn’t be affecting the post in any way.

Thanks staff-doublebassd. I wonder if Google’s validation is broken in some way.
I am not using Chrome, so I checked the post with Google’s online validator (at https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmg3c.com%2F2016%2F02%2F23%2Fhidden-innovation-the-best-kind%2Famp%2F). That still gives an error in the Gravatar code.
