From private to public blog – settings won´t update

Hi, I have now tried for several times to change my https://halfayearinperu.wordpress.com/ blog from private to public. From my settings it looks like it is public, but when I try to share posts, it says that the blog is private. Can you help me with this issue? Thank you!

It sounds like perhaps your blog is public but your posts are private? Take a gander at the instructions on this page and see if perhaps you need to change the setting for specific posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-visibility/

Hi! It doesn’t seem to be that either. Both my blog and my posts are public. My posts should be automatically shared on FB, but it doesn´t do that. When I do it manually by using the share button or by copy pasting the URL to my FB, it says that my blog is private. The only way I could share it was to copy-paste the URL of the whole blog, not the post, into my FB. I also tried signing in and signing out again from WP. I also tried saving the current settings again. But nothing seems to work. People can apparently read the blog posts, but I just can´t share them on social media or anywhere else… Any other suggestions? OR does anyone know is WP has some kind of support contact that is not a forum? I couldn´t find any contact info.

Take a look at some of the suggestions on this thread from last year with a similar problem. Some of the suggestions include flushing your FB cache, disconnecting then reconnecting to facebook, and composing from the dashboard. It’s also mentioned in that thread that perhaps somehow the publicize settings got out of whack.
If none of the suggestions in that thread do the trick and no one else has any ideas, you can add the tag ‘modlook’ in the sidebar to this thread, and a staff member will come to take a look.

Your blog is now public. WordPress.com system may need some time to reflect the change. I’ve fixed the Facebook sharing problem by debugging your blog’s homepage URL and the latest post URL.
You can also fix such Facebook sharing/thumbnail problems in 3 steps.
First: Visit https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ . You will get an input box.Second: Enter the URL your are facing problem with. Click the Debug button. It will display some information about the link.
Third: Now click the “Fetch new scrape information” button. You will see the latest information about your link and this should show the latest properties of that linked page.
