From WordPress to own domain

    I regularly get a notice telling me that I can get my own domain for just 18$ – it´s tempting. But what happens if I choose to do this?

    1) Will my blogadress automaticly change from http://www.jensdrejer.wordpress.com to http://www.jensdrejer.com?

    2) There are lots of people who link to my blog and my blogposts. Will all those links still work

    I hope somebody will help me and answer these questions. Thanks a lot … :)

    You can choose a new domain to register, it doesn’t have to match your WordPress.com site, but it also isn’t guaranteed that any given domain will be available.

    As stated here:

    Adding a domain will change the URL (the links) to all your posts and pages. We will automatically redirect any visitors…

    you should be OK with existing links!

    I will order my own domain one of the next days …. :)
