From Yahoo Domains and WordPress.org to WordPress.com
-
My situation today is:
1) A domain name registered on Yahoo Domains;
2) A WordPress.org Blog running in a non-Yahoo hosting.My goal is:
1) Transfer my domain from Yahoo Domains to WordPress.com
2) Purchase disk space at WordPRess.com and move my Blog from WordPress.org.My questions:
1) Is it possible to transfer my domain name from Yahoo Domains to WordPress.com? I want web-hosting and domain administration in the same place;
2) If I export my Blog from WordPress.org and import it in WordPress.com will it work fine or I need extra work;
3) I use only 2 WordPress.org plug-ins: Facebook and Twitter. The plug-ins allow my readers to “Tweet” and “Like” posts. Is there a way to have this working on WordPress.com?Thanks a lot!

1) Yes, you can transfer your domain registration over to wordpress.COM, or you can leave it at yahoo and just edit the DNS records at yahoo and point them to wordpress.COM, get the domain mapping and map that domain to your blog here.

2) You can easily move your .ORG blog contents over to .COM. Export it from the .ORG blog and import it to the .COM blog. Very little should be needed as far as extra work. Do note that there are differences between what is allowed here and what can be done when self-hosted.
