Front Page

    Hi There,
Im working on a site, set to private at the moment. but I want the front page to be like the Harmonic Demo, where you click on the word harmonic and it takes you essentially back on yourself, however my site would take you somewhere else. How can i do this?
I’ve tried setting up a page and having that as the front with a graphic saying enter which links to a news page but then it says Home at the top of it. I just want it to be like on the demo…background, words, link.
can anyone help? im finding it hard to customise it like i want to and how the demo looks.
    many thanks in advance

  • I took a look at your site in progress, and it looks like you’re off to a good start by setting your front page to a static page. You’ve applied the Full Width template to it, but you might instead want to apply the Front Page template. That will allow you to start setting up your site more like the demo. There’s a full guide on setting up the Front Page template in Harmonic here – have a look and if you get stuck at a particular step, let me know.

On the demo site, the word “Harmonic” in the white box is a graphic uploaded using the Site Logo tool, under Appearance > Customize > Site Title. This will always link back to the homepage of your site, though, not an arbitrary URL that you can change.

If you need a call-to-action-type button/box on your front page that links somewhere other than the homepage, you might consider a theme like Edin, Goran, or Sequential, which are designed to accommodate that.
