Front page and shop page are the same page

  I setup wordpress awhile ago and am very novice about it. For some reason my front page and my shop page are the same page. I want to separate my shop page from my front page. How do I do that? Is the front page the same thing as a home page? I want my visitors to first see a front or home page before they go to a shop page.

  You use the self-hosted WordPress version(.org), and your website is hosted on HostGator.
