front page appearance

If you look at my front page, you see that all of my longer blog posts are split in half, so they don’t consume so much space on the front page. The problem I have with this is the appearance. Is there a way to make all of that empty space- disappear? It just looks sort of thrown together, not orderly at all. It looks like a mess. Is there a site someone could direct me to that offers tips or tutorials on how to clean up a messy blog? That would be great.

If you just leave more words before the More tag, it’ll look a LOT better. Part of the problem is the images are longer than the text; if you add more text, it’ll take care of it. You’re also not leaving enough text to really draw the reader in. Your hits will probably go up if you put 50-100 words before the More tag.
Or you could switch to a theme where titles and spaces aren’t so prominent.

Ah- the images probably are part of the problem, I didn’t even think about that. Because yeah, when I add the more tag the image is larger so I guess that would account for some space. I was thinking the space was the problem, but you are right, I need more words lol. Yeah I don’t like that about the theme I have, I only like this theme because it’s so easy to customize. Do you know of one that works well with custom banners and colors? Btw, thanks a lot for the pointers, I am gonna go see if I can fix some of them up now;-p

I’d need you to define exactly what you mean by “works well with custom banners and colours” first.
