Front Page Carousel Question

In the photos in the carousel, there is a white box with information about the post. I would like to make the background clear and the letters white. Look at http://www.bluecollarprep.com/ for example of how I would like it to look. This allows one to see the photo, but also the words about the blog. Can you help me fix this?
