Front Page Display setting glitch
-
IN REFERENCE TO BLOG: http://fotografiedelolivia.wordpress.com/
ORIGINAL SETTINGS: This blog has six pages, one of which is my posts page (called “photo blog”). The “front page display” setting is currently set to a static page called “home.” Once at the main page, visitors have to click on the top menu item for “photo blog” to get to the posts page.
CHANGES MADE: I changed the “front page display” setting to “your latest posts” so that the main page would be “photo blog” instead of “home.”
WEIRD RESULT: The first page you see now is indeed the posts page. But, if you navigate to that page by clicking “photo blog” in the menu, it doesn’t display the posts page. It displays some other page?!?
Please help. The only way I’ve been able to fix this is to go back to one of the static pages as the first page displayed. Right now I have it set so you can see the problem.
Thank you in advance.

Sort of. Thanks for the link. I ended up going to manage pages and deleting the one I thought was my posts page called “photo blog.” This removed that page from the top links but now there is no top link to the posts page. The first page is the posts page like I want but there is no way to get back to it once you navigate away (other than clicking on the title).

Most people who have been surfing for at least a few weeks are familiar with the fact that the blog title or site graphic at the top of a site will take you back to the main page.
If you feel the need, put a home link in a text widget and put it at the top of the sidebar.
-
Or create a new blank page with a link to your blog as its title.
If you don’t know how to write links, this is what you must put in the title box (or in the text widget, in case you prefer thesacredpath’s suggestion):
photo blog
(URL = the address of your blog as you gave it at the beginning of your first post here.) -
The title as link thing didn’t work so I created a text widget called home. I then renamed the page formerly called home to something else.
Thanks for your help all!

The only case the title-as-link doesn’t work is if you put a single word as its name; if you put “photo blog” or “home page” instead of “home” it will work.
