Front page looks wrong to me, fine to others
-
I posted about this problem months ago — kookieh helped me solve it — but now it has returned. My blog warrenmpp.com does not load properly for me; there is a small spinning wheel below the bar. I can click on all pages read all pages but the home page blog postings are down the page and they are out of order. When my husband looks on his computer, it looks perfectly normal. I use Chrome and cleared the cache (which worked last time) but now it is strange looking even incognito. This is making me crazy. Any ideas of what I did wrong…and how to make it right? Thank you.

hi,
Your blog does not load properly for me too:
https://screenshots.firefox.com/n6NkYzs4gntFRz4b/warrenmpp.comI have tagged modlook for a Staff to help you with this.
Thank you for your patience while they get back to you. -
Hi there,
Your website seems to be loading fine for me on Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
However, a second try seemed to cause the issue you’ve explained, with the third retry loading the page as normal. Could be an issue with the amount of content being loaded at once.
Let’s try this quick fix and see if it works for you. It can be quickly reverted if it fails.
Go to My Sites(s) -> Customize -> Content Options -> Set Blog Display to Excerpt. Save the changes and test your site again.
You may see some content missing from each post on the homepage as you need to specify a small amount of content to be displayed in the excerpt for each blog post.
If it didn’t work, then revert the Content Options back to Full Post and await a Staff member to reply.
Let me know how you got on.
Thanks,
Zac.

Hi folks, I wasn’t able to duplicate this. But I’ve tried something on this end – can anyone confirm whether you see the same issue?
If it works, I’ll try turning it back and having you see if the problem reappears so we can confirm the issue.

Hi @supernovia,
I was able to duplicate the issue once, but every other time it’s worked as normal.
Perhaps it may be best for @patmues to limit the amount of content on the homepage by using post excerpts. Especially as this theme uses AJAX to load new content once you’ve scrolled the bottom of the page.
Revert the change you made and I’ll confirm from my end if the issue still persists or not. Currently it’s loading as normal.

I stumbled on this strange behaviour by accident:
This is how warrenmpp.com loads on Firefox and Chrome
https://screenshots.firefox.com/thQkPlnL5TghabDU/warrenmpp.comThis is how warrenmpp.com. (note the period at the end) loads on Firefox and Chrome

Yes, the same thing happened to me. It seems to happen at random.
There doesn’t seem to be any error or log issues in the debugging console. It’s either a resource request that fails to load, an AJAX issue with the theme, or the amount of content that’s being loaded at once as that site doesn’t use post excerpts.

This is how warrenmpp.com. (note the period at the end)
Website URLs are not supposed to have a period at the end. The screen shot link you provided is empty, but if loading the link with a period at the end causes an error, that’s the browser’s fault for not handling the incorrect URL properly, and not something we can fix on our end.
That said, warrenmpp.com and warrenmpp.com. both load perfectly fine for me in Firefox, loading the exact same page at https://warrenmpp.com/
Let’s wait for the OP to provide the information @supernovia asked for above, please.

Here is a retake of the https://warrenmpp.com./ screenshot from Firefox.

hi,
I noticed that when I click on the screenshot link, I get a page not found error.
Please manually append a period to the screenshot url. -
Now you’ve added a trailing slash in addition to the trailing period to the URL. That will not work, as that is not how URLs are supposed to be entered. Entering it that way is supposed to cause an error in the browser and has nothing to do with the issue the OP is asking for help with.
Your new screen shot link again gives a page not found error.
