Front Page Posts

Since the site has launched its “new version” there seems to be less options. For instance, the function to paste directly to front page is gone. Why?

Do you mean the sticky function? Given the number of people who’ve reported their mistakes with it today and yesterday, I’d say it’s still around somewhere.

WordPress really hasn’t taken options away, they’re just no longer immediately visible (whether that’s a good thing or bad thing seems to depend on who ya speak to). Raincoaster sent ya in the right direction to answer your specific question. There’s also a ‘write up’ about the changes that came about with the new 2.7 dashboard

I could never see much point in the much-vaunted sticky option. Don’t you usually want your latest post to appear at the top anyway? And it’s always been possible to put a page permanently at the top, as an arrival page; the link for that is somewhere in the settings menu I think. The new thing about the sticky facility was that it was easy to access, but it’s hard to see why you need easy access to something you wouldn’t really use on a daily basis.

Yeah, eurofile, I wasn’t a big fan/user of it. Some people use it in ways which it wasn’t originally intended. I suppose that’s why they made it more hidden. Kinda like how they hid a direct link to forums and such. I don’t know, but sticky notes aren’t really my thing, either.

The Help dropdown will be getting some love soon with better integration between Support and Forums. The link isn’t really hidden…if you want help, you should click on Help. ;-) -
Mtde, did you just wink at me, you perv? And on a Sunday of all days! :P Seriously, if you can think of a better word for taking a direct link for forums, down one level; besides using the word ‘hidden.’ I’ll be happy to use that word for now on.
