Front Page Preview Posts
-
I’d like to make my front page posts consist of the title of each article and a short preview, rather than the entirety of each post just printed on the home page.
Clicking the article title or body on the front page would bring the reader to the article page.
Thank you in advance for any help, I really appreciate it!

Hi,
Some themes display excerpts on the posts page by default, and many newer themes also have the Content Options panel in the Customizer, which allows you to choose between displaying the full post or an excerpt. For active themes that display excerpts by default on the posts page instead of full post content, see the following filtered lists from the WordPress.com Themes Showcase:
blog excerpts — https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/blog-excerpts
blog excerpts, free — https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/blog-excerpts/type/free/ -
On any theme you may also use the More Tag inserted into posts to selectively truncate the displayed portion of a post on the posts page (aka blog page). The tag must be applied individually to each post that you want to be abbreviated, at the point in the post content where it will be truncated on the posts page.
